THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF LIBRARY ASSOCIATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS (IFLA)

The International Association of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is not only an international institution representing the interests of libraries, information services and users, but also the most important professional organization operating in this field.

Founded in 1927 and to which our National Library has been a member since 1976, IFLA today has more than 1400 members in more than 140 countries. The national library contributes to the promotion of our country in international platforms by taking part in this important union.

Its headquarters are in The Hague, Netherlands, and its general conferences are held in a different country each year.
